Couples

I often hear clients say:

"It was so good in the beginning...what happened?" or

"I'm not sure I'm in love with my partner anymore." or

"I'm tired of trying and I don't know if I want to work on this relationship anymore."

If this sounds familiar, the good news is that it CAN get better. Even if your relationship feels like it may be over, sometimes it just takes learning a few new communication and relationship skills to get it back on the road again.

Romance and fun can come back again, if you want it to.... I can help.

Some people aren't sure what to expect when they come in for couples counseling the first time. "Will it be uncomfortable? Embarrassing? Will the counselor take sides? Will I have to talk about things I don't want to?"

Many people tell me after two or three sessions, that they actually enjoy coming in. The sessions include talking, listening, learning about communication, relationship types, personality types, exploring what goals you, as the client, want to work toward.

During the first session, both partners come in together and we will decide the methods to take. Some couples want to see me by themselves for 1 or 2 sessions, and then meet together as a couple after that. Some couples choose to only see me together from the start. Together we will decide what is best for you and your relationship.

My job, as the counselor, is not to take the side of either partner. I take the side of the relationship. I also make sure that each partner feels "heard" and understood by both their partner and me.

I look forward to meeting you and hopefully we'll have the chance to work together to improve your relationship.. .where ever you are at this moment, it can always get better.
